Carnival Row is an exclusive series made for Amazon Prime Video which premiered on August 30, 2019. It explores the themes such as Neo-noir, steampunk, fantasy and political. The show is created by Rene Echevarria and Travis Beacham.
Carnival Row was received fairly well by audience all over the world. The show is considered to have mixed to average reviews. Critics found it to be tangled mix of the themes. Season 2 was announced even before season 1 was released. This helped in building anticipation about the series among the viewers.
Just like all other movies and series the production had to stop due to the pandemic. Release dates of the show just kept being pushing backwards. So when will the second season finally release? Read on to find out all the details.
The Carnival Row Season 2 Overview
The main characters of the series are Orlando Bloom playing the role of Rycroft Philostrate, who is an Inspector investigating the dark secrets of the town. Cara Delevingne plays the role of Vignette Stonemoss who was Philo’s former lover.
The series introduced its audience to a dark, Victorian-style dystopian world. It had been all shattered with war and racial division. Moreover, it had been not the people’s color that mattered. What mattered was their species, as fairies and different legendary creatures.
Carnival Row Season one left the audience wanting for more. Fans and critics well appreciated the show. Though it’s revived for a second season, we expect the next installment to release in 2021’s final quarter.
Release Date for Carnival Row Season two
So far, we do not have any official release date for season two. But, we will hear some excellent news anytime shortly. Season one premiered on Amazon Prime Video on August 30, 2019. Amazon had renewed carnival row for a second season in July, 2019; just a month before the release of season 1.
Amazon prime video is planning to release the first 5 episodes of season 2 soon. They intend to release the final 4 episodes soon after that when they complete production.

What are the reasons for the delay?
Production for the second season started in November 2019, but had to stop in March 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic. At the time of lockdown, the team had only 3 weeks of shooting left. Production was to resume from May, 2020 but Amazon did not give a go ahead until June, 2020.
Filming of the second season ended in August 2020. Production resumed again in may 2021 in Czech Republic to film the scenes which involved Orlando Bloom. This had to be done later as Orlando was unavailable last year because he had to be present there for the birth of his child.
With everything almost complete now, Amazon Prime video may release season 2 by the end of 2021. Amazon may release the trailer anytime now. We just have to wait for a few months to see the second season.
